Haysville farmer located after reported missing

A Haysville farmer was found after several hours of searching by local authorities.

According to the Dubois County Sheriff’s Department, they received a call that family members had last seen 51-year-old Steve L. Noble, Haysville walking into the woods near his home at 10:30 a.m. Thursday. He was seen with a shotgun and the family assumed he was going squirrel hunting but when he had not returned that evening, they decided to contact the authorities.

The family contacted the sheriff’s department who began search efforts with Indiana Conservation Officers and the Haysville Volunteer Fire Department soon after receiving the 9 p.m. call.

The group searched a 20-40 acre wooded area just south of Haysville for over three hours but search efforts were called off shortly before 1 a.m. Authorities had planned on starting up again at daylight with a second search party, however, Noble was reported to have returned to his home of his own accord at about 6:30 a.m.
