Harvey M. Eckert, 81

Harvey M. Eckert, 81, of Huntingburg, passed away Friday morning, March 13, 2015 at The Waters of Huntingburg nursing center in Huntingburg.

He was born March 13, 1934 in Dubois County, Indiana, to Henry and Beatrice (Johnson) Eckert.

Harvey was a retired self-employed plumber and former owner/operator of Eckert’s Trailer Park.  He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing.  He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Robert, Eugene and Ronald Eckert; and one sister, Kay Ann Eckert.

He is survived by his companion, Patricia Eckert of Huntingburg; five children, Arthur (spouse, Donna) Eckert of Huntingburg, Dennis (spouse, Deb) Eckert of Evansville, Rebecca Eckert of Homestead, Fla., Christina Eckert of Jasper, and Julie Eckert of Huntingburg; seven siblings, David Eckert of Huntingburg, Janet Massengill of Coon Rapids, Minn., Glenn Eckert of Huntingburg, Peggy Kupper of Huntingburg, Randy Eckert of Huntingburg, Jerry Eckert of Huntingburg, and Timmie Eckert of Washington; and by three grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Memorial services for Harvey Eckert will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 20, 2015 at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg.  Pastor Ron Frazier will officiate at the service.

Friends may call for visitation at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Friday, the day of the service. Memorial donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
