Harvest Health & Rehab set to open in Jasper

Loogootee-based Harvest Health & Rehab will open the doors to its newest location in Jasper next week.
The business providing occupational, physical and speech therapy will open at 607 West 6th Street Suite C in Jasper (next to Jimmy John’s) on April 9.
Owners, Erin (Burch) Burns and her brother, Steven Burch, were born and raised in Loogootee. Erin specializes in speech-language pathology and communication disorders. Steven has a mechanical engineering degree from the University of Evansville.

After finishing her bachelor’s and master’s at Indiana State University, Erin practiced in Indianapolis where she received recognition for her services. Wanting to bring that great service to the rural area they grew up in, Erin and Steven decided to open Harvest Health & Rehab in their hometown.
“Erin is really good at what she does,” said Steven. “I had just finished my MBA and we decided we wanted to try to bring excellent therapy service to underserved rural communities.”
They started out small but that grew into an additional office in Bedford and more than 40 employees. With patients travelling from Dubois County up to Loogootee for therapy, the pair decided to bring their services to Jasper.
As they were making plans for the new location in the the former movie rental store, they found that the remaining storefront was too large for their needs. So, the pair invited Mercy Urgent Care to join them in the location as well.
“I’m good friends with the owners of Mercy,” Steven said, adding that after Zipmed closed in 2023, they saw an opportunity for Mercy Urgent Care to expand to the Dubois County.
Erin and Steven also opened Martin County Urgent Care in Loogootee in response to Zipmed’s closure, and Mercy Urgent Care in Jasper is planning to open in May.
Through Harvest Health & Rehab, Erin and Steven will bring high quality therapy options to Dubois County.
“Our business model is to attract the best therapists in the region and we have been able to do that,” Steven said. “That’s what drives our business.”
Additionally, the company has therapists with certified specialties in hand issues, lymphodema and pelvic floor therapy–physical therapy designed to reduce incontinence or pelvic floor dysfunction impacting an individual’s quality of life. All of the physical therapists are also dry needling certified.
Harvest Health & Rehab strives to have well-rounded and diverse therapists to better serve the needs of rural communities where they are located, according to Steven.

Steven said the company’s patients provide a lot of referrals due to their satisfaction with the treatments they received.
“We’re very family oriented and our therapists are extemely passionate about improving the health of our patients,” Steven said.
