Harley M. McVay, 31

Harley M. McVay, 31, Jasper, formerly of Washington County, died Thursday, Dec. 11, 2014, at his residence.

He was born at Bedford on Dec. 7, 1983, to J. R. and Tammy (Malott) McVay.

McVay was a turkey farmer, a former employee of GenPac in Scottsburg and McDonald’s in Salem and was a former certified nursing assistant with Kindred Healthcare in Louisville. He attended Mount Tabor Christian Church and was a member of the Campbellsburg Betterment Committee and Friends of Beck’s Mill.

He is survived by his mother, Tammy McVay of Campbellsburg; a brother, Isaiah S. McVay of Mitchell; his grandparents: Delora Graham of Jasper, Donna Warner of Campbellsburg and Larry Malott of Mitchell; and a great-grandmother, Violet Malott of Salem.

He was preceded in death by his father.

The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Dawalt Funeral Home, 204 E. Market St., Salem.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday and after 9 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
