Habitat for Humanity of Dubois County set to celebrate 20th home
Habitat for Humanity of Dubois County will hand a homeowner the keys to her newly constructed home during a key ceremony on June 28 at 10:30 a.m.
The new home located at 2520 Birk Drive was built through the combined efforts of Linda Verkamp (the homeowner), volunteers, local businesses, community members, and a partnership with the Patoka Valley CTE and VUJ students in the building trades.
Habitat homes are built using volunteer labor and donated materials to lower the cost of construction. Owners take on an interest-free mortgage for the home’s construction cost. Their payments fund other activities and new home builds.
The public is invited to celebrate this milestone with Ms. Verkamp at her new home.
