Gregory J. Tretter, 46, of Dale, passed away Thursday, August 31, 2017, at Clark Memorial Hospital in Jeffersonville. He was born January 19,

He was born January 19, 1971, in Bloomington, Ind., to Raymond A. & Elizabeth “Betty” (Ebert) Tretter. He was united in marriage to Crystal Lane on February 14, 2012, in Jasper.

Gregory worked at Spencer Industries in Dale. He was a former member of St. Isadore Parish, St. Raphael Campus in Dubois where he was a Catechist, a Eucharistic minister and sacristan. He was an ASE certified auto body mechanic and skilled painter. He was also a certified welder. He enjoyed finishing wood products, poetry, playing and listening to music and playing pool.

Surviving are his wife, Crystal Tretter; two sons, Kade and Cole Tretter of Dubois; two stepdaughters, Shannon and Brianna Bryant at home; his parents, Ray and Betty Tretter of Ferdinand; three brothers, Tim (Jill) Tretter of Overland Park, Kan., Chris (Dawn) Tretter of Ferdinand and Scott (Lisa) Tretter of Oakland City; parents-in-law, Jeff and Brenda Lane of Tell City; sister-in-law, Tammy Davis of Tell City; brother-in-law, Chad Lane of Tell City.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 5, 2017 in Christ the King Parish, St. Ferdinand Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday and from 7:00 to 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at Becher Funeral Home in Ferdinand. Memorial contributions may be made to Christ
