Gregory Gehlhausen, 76, Santa Claus

Gregory Gehlhausen, 76, of Santa Claus, passed away on Thursday, March 19, 2026, at Deaconess Memorial Hospital in Jasper.

Gregory was born February 4, 1950, in Huntingburg to Jerome and Frieda (Giesler) Gehlhausen. 

Greg was a dry-wall hanger for many years. He was an accomplished athlete for the Ferdinand Crusaders. He enjoyed pitching horseshoes, being outdoors and salmon fishing in Alaska. 

Greg is survived by two brothers, Ronald (Mary) Gehlhausen of Huntingburg and Steven (Lynda) Gehlhausen of Ferdinand; three sisters, Donna Belkoski of Opelika, Ala., Shelly Haidari of Ferdinand and Kanda (Randy) Wade of Santa Claus; brother-in-law, Wayne Utley of Santa Claus.

Greg was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Gayla Utley. 

Funeral services will be on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. EDT in St. Ferdinand Catholic Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Friends may call on Tuesday at the church from 9 a.m. EDT until time of services.
