Gregory E. Breitwieser, 56, Dubois

Gregory E. Breitwieser, 56, of Dubois, passed away at 12:53 a.m. on Tuesday, February 18, 2020, at home after a battle with cancer. 

Greg was born in Jasper on March 7, 1963, to Edwin and Carol (Dillman) Breitwieser. He married Jeanna Canary on July 9, 2004, in Sevierville, Tennessee. 

He was a 1981 graduate of Northeast Dubois High School. He worked at Hoefling Truck and Tractor as a part salesman for several years. He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Haysville. Greg enjoyed restoring and rebuilding classic cars, attending drag races, and basketball.  He was a dedicated family man who enjoyed spending time with family and friends. 

He is survived by his wife, Jeanna Breitwieser of Dubois; one daughter, Krista (Adam) Hill of Jasper; three sons, Eric (Jonna) Breitwieser of St. Anthony, Adam (Amber) Breitwieser of Jasper and Willie (Niki) Canary, of Hillham; six grandchildren, Lillian Hill, Harper, Grady, and Ayla Breitwieser, Nora and A.J. Breitwieser; his father, Edwin Breitwieser of Dubois; one sister, Stacy (Heath) Harper of St. Meinrad; four brothers, Kerry Breitwieser, Curt (Sherry) Breitwieser, Jim (Julie) Breitwieser, and Kevin Breitwieser, all of Dubois.

Preceding him in death is his mother, Carol Breitwieser.

A funeral service for Gregory E. Breitwieser will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 22, 2020, at Christ Lutheran Church in Haysville, Indiana, with burial to follow in Emanuel Hill Cemetery in Dubois. Pastor Timothy Kraemer will officiate. A visitation will be held from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, February 21, 2020, at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper and one hour before services from 10:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. service time at the church on Saturday.
