Grayson Goodness, 71, Santa Claus

Grayson Goodness, 71, of Santa Claus, passed away on September 13, 2026.

He was born on March 29, 1955, in Huntingburg to Joseph and Doris (Koehler) Goodness.  

He married Diane Oeding on October 13, 1984, at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Fulda.  

Grayson was a graduate of Jasper High School and Middle Tennessee State University. Community was his passion. He proudly served his community as a Jasper City Councilman; an avid supporter and fan of Jasper High School Sports; and, suitably, was a salesman for local businesses. He worked for Jasper Engines, sold insurance and lastly, landed his “dream job” at MASA (Mid America Sports Advantage).

Grayson enjoyed the simple life and the outdoors, finding peace whether he was working in the yard, walking through the neighborhood or just porch sitting.   

He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister and brother-in-law, Elaine “Lani” and Bob Cook.

He is survived by his wife, Diane Goodness of Santa Claus; a daughter, Mariah (C.J.) Doss of Jasper; two sons, Guy (Kasia) Goodness of Huntingburg, Jud (Kyla) Goodness of Jasper; nine grandchildren, Bree, Dash, Hope, Gabe, Zach, Audrey, Ainsley, Palmer and Nash.

Visitation for Grayson Goodness will take place at Nass and Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg on Sunday, September 20, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service beginning at 2:00 p.m. EDT.
