Grant set up to help with substance abuse and addiction treatments
The Dubois County Superior Court received a $60,000 Justice Partners Addiction Response Grant from the Indiana Supreme Court to be used specifically to combat addiction in Dubois County.
The court has set aside $5,000 for law enforcement training opportunities. The remaining $55,000 will be used to start two programs.
In the first, the Court has partnered with New Visions Counseling Services to provide up to $1,000 worth of substance abuse treatment at no cost to participants under the “I Need Help” initiative.

To seek help contact any law enforcement officer or agency, New Visions Counseling directly at 812-556-0182, Dubois Superior Court at 812-481-7070, the Dubois County Probation Department at 812-481- 7075, the Court, Alcohol and Drug program at 812-482-5342 or Community Correction at 812-481-2440 and simply say I NEED HELP or present an “I Need Help” card available at several locations locally.
You will immediately be referred to a counselor who is standing by to
assess your situation and connect you with treatment, up to $1,000 of which may be free.
In the second program, the Court Alcohol and Drug Program is partnering with Lifespring Health Systems and New Vision Counseling Center to provide up to $1,000 worth of substance abuse addiction counseling free to convicted offenders referred to these providers by the Alcohol and Drug Program.
All funds are available on a first-come, first-serve basis until depleted, with the Court being payor of last resort, meaning that funds may be used only to pay bills that remains after payment by insurance or any other collateral
source and after adjustments, if any, are made based upon participants’ income and resources.
