Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter Vanessa Carlton performing at Jasper Arts Center

Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter and pianist Vanessa Carlton will bring her unmistakable voice and deeply personal songwriting to the Jasper Arts Center on Friday, October 30, 2026, at 7:30 p.m.

Carlton became an international sensation with her landmark debut single, “A Thousand Miles.” Driven by one of pop music’s most recognizable piano melodies, the song climbed the Billboard charts and earned multiple Grammy Award nominations.

She followed its success with audience favorites including “Ordinary Day” and “White Houses,” establishing a career that has continued to evolve well beyond her early hits.

Over the past two decades, Carlton has developed a rich and distinctive catalog that blends intimate storytelling, expressive piano arrangements, and atmospheric pop. Her seventh studio album, “Veils,” was released in April 2026 and was produced by Dave Fridmann, known for his work with artists including MGMT and The Flaming Lips.

The album represents the latest chapter in Carlton’s ongoing growth as a songwriter and recording artist.

Carlton’s creative work has also extended beyond the recording studio. In 2019, she made her Broadway debut portraying Carole King in “Beautiful: The Carole King Musical,” and she recently co-composed the score the for the film “Wish You Were Here,” directed by Julia Stiles.

The Jasper Arts Center’s intimate theater will give audiences the opportunity to experience Carlton’s musicianship up close, from the songs that first made her a household name to music from the newest chapter of her career.
