Gov.-Elect Braun stops in where it all began

Gov.-Elect Mike Braun arrived at the Calumet Events Plaza for the Jasper Chamber-hosted event held Wednesday afternoon.

The Jasper Chamber of Commerce welcomed Gov.-Elect Mike Braun to the Calumet Event Plaza for a meet-and-greet and quick talk Wednesday afternoon.

Braun spoke for about 15 minutes outlining his entrance and continued progress in politics and a few of his priority issues as governor–top priority and Senate Bill 1 address property taxes he mentioned.

He mentioned he and First Lady Maureen Braun would be traveling to Mar-a-Lago along with other Republican governors to meet with the President Elect.

He will be sworn in as governor on Monday, Jan. 13, 2025.

About 150 attendees spent time meeting with the incoming governor.

The governor-elect mentioned he and his wife’s first date was at the Calumet on December 31, 1971. A call to Maureen to join the school board is what turned into Braun’s first step into politics.
Mr. and Mrs. Braun met with supporters prior to his speaking.
