Got Paint? Remember- Latex paint recycling fees are half price through end of November only
The Dubois County Solid Waste District would like to remind residents that our special half price fees on latex paint end soon. Through the end of November latex paint recycling fees are ½ price at the Process Center.
The District’s new Community Recycling Grant allows the SWMD to work with American Paint Recyclers so that waste latex paint can now being recycled into new paint. To celebrate this new partnership and encourage residents to safely recycle all that extra paint setting around in the garage and basement, Latex paint fees through the end of November will be $1 per gallon container and smaller containers will be 2 for $1. Start cleaning out your storage closet and garage because in December, latex paint fees will go back up to $2 per gallon container.
Please note that only latex or water-based paint fees will be half price, although oil based paints and stains are accepted for $2 a gallon container. Residents should separate their containers before they get to the Process Center for the discount. A good way to determine paint type is that latex/water based paints will say “soap and water clean up” whereas oil based paints and stains will say “clean up with mineral spirits.” Do not mix paints together. Paint should be in its original container.
The prices are for Dubois County residents only. Any businesses or organization having paint to dispose of or recycle needs to contact the Process Center directly for proper disposal information.
Face coverings are required while on site and residents should be able to unload their own items. The District’s Process Center is located at 1103 South 350 West, just outside of Jasper. Regular hours are 8 am to 1 pm Monday through Friday. The Process Center will be closed Thursday the 26th and Friday the 27th for the Thanksgiving holiday. The Center is offering extended hours on Tuesday, November 24 until 6 pm. Individuals can call the office at 812-482-7865 or check out our Facebook page or www.duboiscountyrecycles.org for additional information on District services.
