Girls on the Run – Serving Dubois County welcomes Chapman, Kleinhelter and Welsh to Board
Girls on the Run – Serving Dubois County, Inc. is proud to welcome Christina Chapman, Angie Kleinhelter and Brenda Welsh to its Board of Directors.
Girls on the Run is a physical activity-based, positive youth development program that inspires 3rd through 5th-grade girls to recognize their limitless potential and boldly pursue their dreams.
Christina Chapman brings her experience as a Vice President of Human Resources at MasterBrand Cabinets to GOTR. She is currently a volunteer and Board Member for Junior Achievement of Dubois County and has also volunteered for Anderson Woods and Crisis Connection. She lives in Jasper with her husband Jeremy, and their daughters, Addison – a past participant in the GOTR program, Sophia and Katie.
Angie Kleinhelter is currently the Director of Human Resources at National Office Furniture. She is on the Advisory Committee for Young Women Lead for Dubois County, a member of Women Empowering Women organization and has been a mentor and volunteer for SOAR. She is a board member for the Jasper Chamber of Commerce. She has also volunteered for GOTR at its 5k event. Angie lives in Jasper with her husband Tom, and their children, Taylor and Reece.
Brenda Welsh is a Real Estate Broker and Co-owner of Sell4Free Welsh Realty. Brenda was on the original Steering Committee that brought GOTR to Dubois County. Also, Brenda helps organize and facilitate Koatz 4 Kidz, is a member of Tri Kappa sorority and has served as the Treasurer and Vice-President of the Jasper High School Track and Cross Country Booster Club. She and her husband, Andy, live in Jasper with their two daughters, Rachael and Hannah.
The 10-week Girls on the Run program, which is led by volunteer coaches, focuses on helping girls develop key life skills, such as cultivating confidence, responding to oneself and others with care and creating positive connections. The teams also learn the value of giving back to their community through a service project. Each season culminates with a 5k event that celebrates girls’ growth during the season.
Girls on the Run has 225 councils in 49 states and the District of Columbia and has served over 1 million girls since 1996. Girls on the Run – Serving Dubois County has held two seasons with the third season to begin in February and inspired 190 girls in the Dubois County area. With the help of the Board of Directors and volunteers, the program continues to grow and reach more girls each year.
