Gerald B. “Jerry” Meyer, 72, Jasper
Gerald B. “Jerry” Meyer, 72, of Jasper, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at home surrounded by his family.
Jerry was born in Jasper on June 28, 1953, to Harold W. and Bernadine (Mehringer) Meyer.
He married Sandy Rottet on September 22, 1979, in Holy Family Catholic Church.
He retired as financial controller for Jasper Desk Corporation after over 33 years of service.
Jerry was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Jasper, Indiana, and of the Jasper Lions Club for over 40 years.
He was an avid volunteer serving his neighbors and community. He regularly donated platelets through the American Red Cross, served as a CASA volunteer, and volunteered at the Dubois County Museum.
He enjoyed fishing, mowing his and his neighbor’s lawns, reading, watching the St. Louis Cardinals and the Indianapolis Colts, and spending time with family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Sandy Meyer of Jasper; two daughters, Leigh R. Hembree (Ryan) of Haysville and Audra K. Boarman (Jason) of Indianapolis; two grandchildren, Griffin Hembree and Aiden Boarman; seven sisters, Lynne Bohnert of Jasper, Janet Lancaster (Scott) of Evansville, Nancy Giesler (Stan) of Jasper, Debra Hochgesang (James) of Jasper, Mary Schnaus (Kevin) of Ireland, Carla Lichlyter (Pat) of Ireland, and Ann Bennett of Jasper; two brothers, Greg Meyer (Brenda) of Fishers and Kenny Meyer of Indianapolis; and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents; one sister, Carol Lindauer; brother-in-laws, Mike Bohnert, Denny Lindauer, and Mike Bennett; sister-in-law, Angie Meyer; and nephew, Zach Bohnert.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Gerald B. “Jerry” Meyer will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 1, 2026 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Jasper, Indiana with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery in Jasper.
A visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 30, 2026 at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper, Indiana.
