Georgina E. “Jeannie” Leinenbach, 84, Jasper

Georgina E. “Jeannie” Leinenbach, 84 of Jasper, passed away at 5:25 am on Saturday, April 9, 2022, at Northwood Retirement Community in Jasper.  

Jeannie was born in Jasper, Indiana on October 11, 1937, to Leo and Florentine (Merkley) Blessinger.  She married Ron Leinenbach on October 8, 1960, in Holy Family Catholic Church.  

She attended a one-room country school taught by her uncle Adam Blessinger and then graduated from Jasper High School in 1955.  

Jeannie retired from Corbin’s Drapery in Jasper after 40 plus years of service.  

She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Jasper and a member of their Blessed Sodality. She was also member of the Psi Iota XI Sorority.  

She enjoyed playing in her Bridge Club, cooking every weekend for the grandkids, word finds, camping, quilting, and spending time with family and friends.  

She is survived by her husband, Ron Leinenbach of Jasper; two sons, Brad Leinenbach (Deb) of Jasper and Lance Leinenbach (Annette) of Jasper; five grandchildren, Jenna, Erin, Halli, Emerich and Landen Leinenbach, all of Jasper.  

Preceding her in death were her parents, four sisters, Dorothy Burke, Rose Marie Wehr, Lucille Ambs, and Bernice Miller, and five brothers, Edwin, Conrad, Paul, Leo and Leonard Blessinger.    

A Mass of Christian Burial for Georgina E. “Jeannie” Leinenbach will be held at noon on Tuesday, April 12, 2022, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Jasper, Indiana, with entombment to follow in Fairview Cemetery Mausoleum in Jasper. 

A visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until the Noon Mass time on Tuesday, April 12, 2022, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Jasper.  

Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Family Catholic Church or Mentors for Youth of Dubois County.
