George W. “Buddy” Emmons, 87

George W. “Buddy” Emmons, 87, of Cuzco, Indiana, passed away at 11:10 a.m. on Friday, January 23, 2015, at Memorial Hospital and Healthcare Center in Jasper, Indiana.

Buddy was born on January 4, 1928 in Martin County, Indiana to Emil and Clara (Lewis) Emmons. He married Mary Ruth Beatty on June 20, 1948 in Cuzco Methodist Church in Cuzco, Indiana.

Buddy retired from National Gypsum in Shoals, Indiana. He enjoyed raising beef calves and hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Ruth Emmons of Cuzco; one daughter, Peggy Burton and her husband Gordon of Cuzco; three sons, Garry Emmons and his wife Pat of Cuzco, Danny Emmons and his wife Janie of Corydon, and Timothy Emmons and his wife Missy of Cuzco; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; 0ne sister, Wanda Buffington and her husband Terry of Mitchell, Ind.; three brothers, Emil Jr. Emmons of Milford, Ind., Estel “Hump” Emmons and his wife Thelma, and Bill Emmons and his wife Ruth Ann, both of Hillham.

Preceding him in death are three grandchildren, Jessie B. Emmons, Clint W. Emmons, and Shain Emmons; and one sister, Audra Anderson.

Funeral services for George W. “Buddy” Emmons will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 25, 2015, at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper, Indiana, with burial to follow at a later date. Pastor Mike Stout will officiate.
