Gayle Rhea Letterman, 74

Gayle Rhea Letterman, age 74, of Haysville, IN, passed away at 6:00 a.m. on Wednesday (September 11, 2013) at home.
Gayle was born in Johnson City Tennessee on December 18, 1938 to Ernest and Cleo (Leech) Letterman. He married Sharon (Petry) Buechlein on July 6, 1992.
He retired from Jasper Wood Products from which he worked for over 40 years.
He played in country music bands for over 50 years including “The Country Gentleman”, and “The Heartbreakers”.
He was a member of the Jasper Moose, The Huntingburg Eagles, The Sons of the American Legion, and Jasper Outdoor Recreation.
He enjoyed playing guitar, playing cards, fishing, watching movies, and telling stories.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon Letterman, of Haysville; three daughters, Darla Niehaus and her husband William, of Ferdinand, Lisa Letterman and her partner Scott Roberts, of Haysville, and Melinda McCarty and partner John Autry, of English; two sons, Dean Letterman and partner Kathy Klee, of Jasper, and Bob Buechlein and wife Stacia, of Santa Claus; 18 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; two brothers, Stanley Letterman and his wife Wanda, of Haysville, and Conley Letterman and his wife Mary, of Jasper; and two sisters, Jean Meyer and Joan Brown, both of Jasper.
Preceding him in death are his parents.
Funeral services for Gayle Letterman will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday (September 14, 2013) at Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper, with burial to follow at a later date. Pastor Darrel Land will officiate.
Friends may call from 3:00-7:00 p.m. on Friday (September 13, 2013) at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper. The Jasper Moose will conduct a memorial service at 6:00 p.m.
