Gary Cunningham, 79

Gary Cunningham, age 79, of Birdseye, Indiana, passed away at 7:10 a.m., Friday, February 8, 2013 at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper.
He was born January 10, 1934 in New Albany, Indiana to Elmer and Hazel (Kendall) Cunningham. He married June Ellen Lytle on August 20, 1955 in Birdseye, Indiana. Gary was a retired truck driver. He was a member of the Bethlehem Masonic Lodge #574 F&AM, a life member of the Birdseye Conservation Club, and a founding member of the Birdseye Volunteer Fire Department. He was preceded in death by: his mother and father; his adoptive mother who raised him following the death of his birth mother, Dessie Grant; an infant son, Curtis Allen Cunningham; his brother, Lloyd Cunningham; and one great granddaughter.
He is survived by his wife, June Ellen Cunningham of Birdseye; two sons and two daughter-in-laws, Keith (Beverly) Blunk and Eric (Jan) Cunningham, both of Birdseye; one daughter, Hazel Ojeda of French Lick; two cousins, Betty Schultz of Birdseye and Patsy Eckert of Wickliffe; and eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Funeral services for Gary Cunningham will be held at 1:00 p.m., E.S.T., on Monday, February 11, 2013 at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg with burial to follow at Mentor Cemetery near Birdseye. The Rev. Albert Madden will officiate the funeral services.
Friends may call for visitation at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg from 2:00-8:00 p.m., on Sunday. The Birdseye Masonic Lodge will conduct a memorial service at 7:00 p.m., Sunday evening, at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to: The American Heart Association.
