Gaela S. Shawhan, 54, of Holland, Indiana, passed away Saturday, April 25, 2015 at her residence.

She was born May 11, 1960 in Huntingburg, Indiana, to Kenneth and June (Lehmkuhler) Meyer. She married Tony F. Shawhan on June 19, 1982 at St. James Lutheran Church in Holland.

Mrs. Shawhan was an Information Technology Business Analyst for Masterbrand Cabinets where she worked for over 30 years. She was a member of St. James Lutheran Church in Holland where she was an active member of the women’s group and the church choir. She loved spending time with her family and friends and enjoyed nature watching, especially when it came to her hummingbirds.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father.

She is survived by her husband, Tony F. Shawhan of Holland; one daughter, Haley Shawhan of Holland; one sister and brother-in-law, Gloria (Paul) Lindsey of Holland; four brothers and three sister-in-laws, James Meyer of Holland, Tom (Cathy) Meyer of Huntingburg, Dave (Roberta) Meyer of Holland and Dan (Rhonda) Meyer of Granger, Ind.

Funeral services for Gaela S. Shawhan will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, May 1, 2015, at St. James Lutheran Church in Holland with burial to follow at St. James Lutheran Cemetery in Holland. Pastor David Darling and Deaconess Roberta Meyer will officiate at the funeral service.

Friends may call for visitation at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday and also at St. James Lutheran Church in Holland from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. on Friday prior to the funeral.
