French Lick man killed in early morning crash

A French Lick man was Dubois County’s first road fatality early this morning on State Road 56.

Ronald L. Garrison, 65, died in a single vehicle crash that occurred at about 5 a.m. Garrison was traveling westbound on State Road 56 near State Road 545 when his 2007 Dodge Ram began to slide on black ice. Garrison lost control of the truck and it slid off of the north side of the roadway and began rolling. The truck eventually came to rest after slamming into an embankment.

Garrison was pronounced dead at the scene by the Dubois County Coroner’s Office.

He was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash.

The Indiana State Police was assisted at the scene by the Dubois County Sheriff’s Department, Indiana Conservation Officers, Dubois Fire Department, Memorial Hospital EMS, and the Dubois County Coroner’s Office.
