Freida M. Kunz, 94, Jasper

Freida M. Kunz, 94, Jasper, passed away at 8:09 a.m. on Saturday, July 30, 2016, at her daughter’s home in Evansville.
Freida was born in Dubois on January 12, 1922 to Ben and Anna (Nonte) Kempf. She married Franklin Kunz on September 19, 1946 in St. Raphael’s Catholic Church in Dubois. He preceded her in death on November 04, 2002.
She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church. She enjoyed fishing, needlework and reading.
She is survived by two daughters, Judy Wells and husband Earl of Evansville and Margaret Gerlach and husband Kevin of Crystal Lake, Ill.; four grandchildren, Kurt Wells, Kara Morley, Stephanie Gerlach and Jeremy Gerlach; eight great-grandchildren, Caroline, Whitney, and Cannon Wells, James, Abby, and Maggie Morley, Audrey and Jeffrey Gerlach; two sisters, Sr. Christine Kempf OSB of Ferdinand and Alice Kalb of Seneca, S.C.
Preceding her in death beside her husband was one son, James Allen Kunz; two sisters, Mathilda Dinwiddie and Genevieve Otto; and two brothers, Emil and Sylvester Kempf.
Funeral services for Freida Kunz will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 6, 2016, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Jasper with burial to follow at St. Mary’s Catholic Church Cemetery in Ireland.
Friends may call from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, August 5, 2016, at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper, and one hour before services at the church on Saturday from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Family Catholic Church, the Sisters of St. Benedict, Heart to Heart Hospice, or to a favorite charity.
