Free Medicare open-enrollment counseling offered at Jasper Public Library

Jasper — The State Health Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP) is partnering with the Jasper Public Library to help local residents navigate their Medicare options during this year’s Annual Medicare Open Enrollment Period. Medicare beneficiaries will have the opportunity to meet individually with trained SHIP Counselors to discuss their plan options and enrollment for the upcoming year. SHIP is a free and impartial Medicare information, education and counseling program provided by the Indiana Department of Insurance. 

Medicare’s Annual Open Enrollment Period is from October 15 through December 7. It is the one time a year that all Medicare beneficiaries can make changes to their prescription drug plans or advantage plans for the upcoming year.

During this time Medicare beneficiaries can compare and enroll in plans to ensure their health coverage needs will be met in 2024. SHIP counseling appointments to help Medicare beneficiaries navigate their options during the Open Enrollment Period are available at Jasper Public Library.
