Fred J. Popp, 69, Portersville

Fred J. Popp, 69, of Portersville, passed away at 3:34 p.m. on Friday, June 15, 2018, at St. Charles Health Campus in Jasper, Indiana.

Fred was born in Washington, Indiana, on July 26, 1948, to Hilbert A. and Eldena L. (Harder) Popp. He married Charlotte Miller on October 9, 1976, in St. Paul’s’ Lutheran Church in Haysville.

Fred worked as a computer technician for Kimball International for many years. He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Haysville, where he served on the church council and the capital stewardship campaign. He enjoyed living in the country and spending time with friends and family.

He is survived by his wife, Charlotte Popp of Portersville; two sons, Chris Popp of Jasper and Mark Popp (Krissy) of Fredricksburg, Vir; five grandchildren, Ben, Quade, and Dawson Popp, and Nathan and Leo Popp; two brothers, Robert Popp (Myrna) of Jasper and James Popp (Linda) of Jasper.

Preceding him in death were his parents and one sister, Louanna Nuhring.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service for Fred J. Popp will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 30, 2018, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Haysville, IN.  Pastor Tim Holt will officiate.

A visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. service time at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church on Saturday, June 30, 2018.
