Franklin D. Roosevelt Sipes, 90, Paoli

Franklin D. Roosevelt Sipes, 90, of Paoli, entered into eternal rest on January 8th, 2023.

He was born in Galion, Ohio, on August 14, 1932, to Arthur and Lucille (Fisher) Sipes.

Frank married Marlene Brown on May 16th, 1987, and she survives.

He proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1951 to 1955, where he served on the USS Whiteside, USS ADG-11 and USS ARD-21. Frank then served in the Army from 1956 to 1968, where he was a member of the Eleventh Armored Calvary Regiment as a “Blackhorse Trooper” while serving in Vietnam, where he earned several medals and accommodations including the Purple Heart.

Frank is survived by wife, Marlene Sipes of Paoli; sons, Richard Sipes (Darlene) of Whiteland and Robert Kenneth Calvin (Elizabeth) of Paoli; daughters, Robin Annette Clark (Kevin) of Southport, Valentina J. Hilgediek (Tom) of Jasper, and Jamie Lea Piccione (Tony) of Greenwood; brother, William A. Sipes of Sullivan, Ohio; sisters, Mudge Marvel Tallman of Tennessee and Rosemond Lucille Schwartz of Bucyrus, Ohio; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Cremation was chosen and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
