Frank B. Smith, 83, Jasper

Frank B. Smith, 83, of Jasper, Indiana, passed away at 3:45 a.m., Saturday, December 23, 2017, in the Northwood Retirement Center in Jasper.

He was born on March 18, 1934, to James and Emily (Canon) Smith. He married Connie Crisman on August 6, 1963, in Louisville, Kentucky. She preceded him in death on December 22, 2008.

He graduated from the college of the Ozarks. Frank taught High School and Jr. High School at (Forest Park) Southeast Dubois School Corporation for 32 years. He retired in 1994. He is a member of the Birdseye Christian Church where he taught Sunday school and directed the church choir. He was an avid bowler and Yahtzee player and enjoyed woodworking.

He is survived by one son, Frank A. (Lori) Smith of Arlington, Texas; three daughters, Mary (Timothy) Clemens of Shepherdsville, Ky., Patricia Marcum of Patterson, La., and Christina (Paul) Best of Taswell; eight grandchildren, Teresa Orange, Kim Morris, Michael Paddick, Russell Paddick, Patrick Paddick Emily Paddick, Charles Clemens and C.J. Smith; 10 great-grandchildren, Anthony Brown, Kelli Elliott, Taylor Brown, Megan Brown, Madison Burroughs, Caleb Paddick, Caden Paddick, Roman Paddick, Danielle Paddick, Savannah Mattingly; two great-great-grandchildren, Jace Elliott and Bailey Brown.

Funeral services for Frank Smith will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 27, 2017, at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper with burial to follow in the Birdseye Cemetery. The Rev. Ron Hickman, Rev. Robert Borden and Rev. Albert Madden will officiate.

Visitation will be held from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, December 26, 2017, at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper.
