Francis T. “Boops” Kraus, 88

Francis T. “Boops” Kraus, 88, of Ferdinand passed away Friday November 21, 2014 at Scenic Hills Care Center in Ferdinand.

He was born June 21, 1926 in Ferdinand to Frank Martin Kraus & Clara (Metzger) Kraus. He married Rosina “Tiny” Rohlman on May 11, 1948 in Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Schnellville, In. She preceded him in death on March 1, 2003.

Francis was a retired wood worker from DMI ater working 50 years. He retired in 1990. Francis was a member of St. Ferdinand Parish, Huntingburg V.F.W., and a 69 year member of Ferdinand American Legion Post 124. He was a WWII Navy Veteran. He was a lifelong Philadelphia Phillies fan. He enjoyed playing cards, visiting the Ferdinand State Forest with family and friends, and his cabin at Yellowbanks.

Surviving are 1 son, Kenneth Kraus and his wife Jan of Evansville; one daughter, Margaret Potter and her husband Mark of Ferdinand; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Funeral services 9:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 25, in St. Ferdinand Catholic Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery.

Ferdinand American Legion Post 124 will conduct military graveside rites. Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Monday and 7 to 8:30 a.m. Tuesday at Becher Funeral Home, Ferdinand.
