Frances Hamelman Wiggins, 86

Frances Hamelman Wiggins, age 86, of Ocala, Florida, formerly of Huntingburg, Indiana, passed away Sunday, April 27, 2014, in Ocala, Florida.
She was born August 25, 1927 in Huntingburg, Indiana, to Elmer John and Helen Mae (Huntman) Hamelman.
Fran grew up on a dairy farm near Huntingburg, attended Indiana State University, married and later moved to Orlando, Florida in 1958 to support her husband Reed Wiggins’ career.
Reed and Fran then transferred with the Lockheed Martin Corporation from Orlando to Ocala, Florida, in 1972.
She enjoyed gardening, cooking, fishing, boating and the beach.
Fran was an Elder of the Silver Springs Shores Presbyterian Church where she volunteered full-time for 30-plus years with the Skills Bank, Meals on Wheels, Food Pantry and various other needs of the community.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Gene Reed Wiggins, who died January 30, 2011.
She is survived by two sons, Jon H. Wiggins of Ocala, Fla. and Joe E. Wiggins of Houston, Texas; one daughter, Jennifer Wiggins of Longwood, Fla.; three grandchildren, Jona Walters, Jon H. Wiggins II and Jason Wiggins all of Orlando, Fla.; and five great grandchildren, Justin, Blake, Alexandra, Laney and Amanda.
Funeral services for Fran Wiggins will be held at 10:00 a.m. EDT, on Saturday, May 3, 2014 at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg with burial to follow at Fairmount Cemetery in Huntingburg. The Reverend Paula Young Mayberry will officiate at the services.
Friends may call for visitation at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Friday evening. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Marion County Humane Society in Ocala, Florida. Condolences may be shared online at www.nassandson.com.
