Four River Forestry Committee hosting breakfast meetup with a forester

The Four Rivers Forestry Committee invites you to have breakfast with a forester this Friday, January 31, 2025, from 8:00 to 10:00 a.m. EST at Kelley’s Restaurant and Bar, 6762 Indiana 164, Celestine.
Consultant foresters and foresters from Purdue Extension and the IDNR Division of Forestry will be present to answer forestry-related questions. Bring your friends and neighbors to this informal gathering to discuss issues you may have in your forests.
Everyone is welcome to join the conversation. There will be no charge, other than paying for the breakfast you order.
Reservations are encouraged: contact Judi Brown at 812-631-4904 so Kelley’s knows how many to expect.
District Foresters from the Indiana Department of Natural Resources Division of Forestry are professionally trained to manage forestland. A District Forester can help you start the management of your forested land by visiting your woods and recommending the best course of action to meet your goals. The foresters administer state and federal programs providing technical assistance, property tax incentives, and cost-sharing incentives for sustainable management. There is no cost associated with the services of a District Forester.
A consulting forester assists forest landowners in managing and maintaining a healthy and productive forest ecosystem while providing a sustainable supply of high-quality hardwood timber from their forest. Consultant foresters provide professional forestry services, and their fees are paid for by the landowners who hire them.
The Four Rivers Forestry Committee annually hosts a “Breakfast with a Forester” event.
The locations vary; they are spread between the Four Rivers target counties of Daviess, Martin, Pike, and Dubois.
