Former Huntingburg Police Chief seeking to run against Mayor Spinner
Huntingburg’s former police chief has filed paperwork as the Democratic candidate for Huntingburg mayor.
Former chief of police Ron Drew, who is now the Holland Town Marshal, announced his intentions to run against incumbent Mayor Denny Spinner in the November 3 election.
Drew, 64, lives in Huntingburg. He served on the Huntingburg Police Department for 32 years. He served his last eight as chief before retiring in 2012. He has served as Holland’s town marshal since 2013.
Before Drew can be placed on the ballot, the committeemen representing the Huntingburg precincts have to caucus to approve his addition.
