Forest Park Senior named to Ferdinand Chamber Board of Directors

Marcia Jochem is a senior at Forest Park High School.

On Wednesday the Ferdinand Chamber of Commerce announced the newest addition to the Board of Directors.

Continuing the Ferdinand Chamber of Commerce’s efforts to engage youth in local government and commerce, a goal set forth by the Ferdinand HomeTown Competitiveness initiative, the Board has named Forest Park senior Marcia Jochem as a “junior” member of the Board of Directors. She will assist the board in the decision-making process in a non-voting capacity.

“Marcia seems genuinely excited to be a part of the Ferdinand Chamber of Commerce’s Board of Directors,” said Jim Mehling, Ferdinand’s Chamber of Commerce President. “To be fair, we are equally as excited. The infusion of youth is a welcome addition—and a beneficial one—to our Board of Directors.”

Marcia is the daughter of Michael and Lori Jochem of Ferdinand. She is a member of FFA (crop and meat judging), Forest Park Marching Rangers(plays tenor sax), and St.Henry Catholic Church. At St.Henry Church, Marcia is a member of the Parish Council, a lector, and in the choir. She has been a member of Prom Board.

After graduation, Marcia is undecided on her major and college choice. She has been accepted to some schools, but debating on which is the best fit for her.
