Forest Park Jr-Sr High School gets new assistant principal

Jamie Pund, Forest Park graduate of the class of 1997, was announced as the new assistant principal of Forest Park Jr./Sr. High School at last night’s school board meeting.
Pund is also a 2002 Purdue Graduate and currently lives in Ostrander, Ohio, near Columbus, and works at the Jonathan Alder Schools in Plain City. She will be coming home to Ferdinand to take the position. Her maiden name is Schnieders.
The Southeast Dubois School board approved her hiring in last night’s meeting.
School Superintendent Rick Allen is very pleased with the addition of Pund to his staff because she is highly qualified and is a native of Ferdinand. “Her and her husband, Mark, who also is a Forest Park graduate, are going to be moving back to the area and so we’re really excited to welcome her back,” he said. “Her experience is in curriculum, being a building principal. Mr. Mehling and I are really excited about Jamie joining our team.”
Pund is completing a doctorate in Leadership Studies at Ashland University in Ohio and holds a Masters of Education from Marygrove College and a Bachelor of Arts from Purdue.
She also holds licenses for Superintendent, Administrative Specialist in Curriculum, Instruction and Professional Development and Elementary 1 through 8.
Allen also reported last night that the school corporation will enact their summer plans for facilities upgrades after school adjourns for the summer. “We’re going to do some parking lots. Of course, the Pine Ridge wetland is going to be installed this summer,” Allen said. “We’re really excited about that. Generally just maintenance on our buildings and try to maintain them as best we can with the resources that we have.”
The final day of classes for Southeast Dubois Schools is on Tuesday, May 26th. Seniors are finished on Friday, May 22nd.
