Food Inspection Reports Dec. 25 to Jan. 18

The following inspection reports are from inspections conducted from December 5 to December 24.

Inspection results from the Dubois County Health Department are published publicly after the restaurants and food stores have had 10 days to respond. Violations are corrected on the day of the inspection unless otherwise noted.

American Legion Post 124 Ferdinand – No violations at the time of inspection.

American Table Family Restaurant Huntingburg: Five critical violations – chicken observed not being cooked to proper temperature; raw food stored above ready-to-eat food in several areas throughout establishment; multiple food items found being stored without lids throughout establishment (repeated violation); food items observed without dates; and chemicals (lotion and peroxide) stored above food contact surfaces. Four noncritical violations – raw food observed being thawed incorrectly; mold accumulation observed on ice machine and ceiling of walk-in; scoop for ready-to-eat rice did not have handle; clean utensils observed being stored hand-side down.

Big Lots, Jasper: No violations at time of inspection.

Burger King, Jasper: One noncritical violation – excessive grease accumulation on hood/floors around frying area. Also observed food particle accumulation in microwave.

Casey’s General Store, Huntingburg: No violations at the time of inspection.

Circle S Mart, Huntingburg: No violations at the time of inspection.

Comfort Inn, Ferdinand: One noncritical violation – debris buildup on and around nozzles of juice and coffee machines (repeated violation).

Ferdinand Processing, Inc.: No violations at the time of inspection.

Headquarters Inc.: One critical violation – Ice machine has some mold accumulation, can opener and microwave, knife holder, single-door prep fridge have some buildup (recommended replacing can opener blade) (repeated violation). One noncritical violation – scoops for flour, sugar, etc. should have handles to prevent contamination.

Holiday Food, Ferdinand: Three noncritical violations – severe dust/dirt accumulation on racks in dairy area and dust accumulation in produce walkin and bakery/deli walkin (repeated violation); dead insect accumulation in produce walkin and deli meat case; multiple damaged ceiling tiles throughout establishment (repeated violation).

Holiday Inn Express, Jasper: No violations at the time of inspection.

Kelley’s Restaurant and Bar, Celestine: No violations at the time of inspection.

Little Caesars Pizza, Jasper: Two noncritical violations – observed gaskets on double glass door in poor condition (repeated violation); recommended cleaning walkin fridge vents daily to prevent contamination on dough proofing.

Los Bravos Mexican Restaurant: Two noncritical violations – Ice growth on refrigerator unit not allowing door to close property (repeated violation); cooling unit not properly draining and holding moisture.

Mad Batter Bakery, Jasper: No violations at the time of inspection.

Main’s Bakery, Huntingburg: No violations at the time of inspection.

McDonald’s, Jasper northside: One noncritical violation – nozzles and surrounding area of beverage dispensers in front drive area observed to be soiled (repeated violation).

Mor-for-Less, Huntingburg: No violations at the time of inspection.

Sander Catering, Jasper: No violations at the time of inspection.

Schnitzelbank Restaurant, Jasper: One critical violation – food items in walkin stored directly on floor. Two noncritical violations – mold accumulation on ice machine; heavy dust accumulation near vents on ceilings in walkin (all repeat violations).

Subway, Huntingburg: No violations at the time of inspection.

Sultan’s Run, Jasper: No violations at the time of inspection.

Sure Stay Plus, Jasper: No violations at the time of inspection.

Dollar General Store, 106 Main St., Huntingburg: No violations at the time of inspection.
