Florence C. Henke, 94, Jasper

Florence C. Henke, 94, Jasper, passed away at 3:22 p.m. on Monday, May 2, 2016, at St. Charles Health Campus in Jasper.

Florence was born on November 5, 1921 in Jasper to August and Veronica (Sherman) Eckert. She married Edgar F. Henke on April 16, 1940 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper. He preceded her in death on August 16, 1987.

She was a homemaker, a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper and a member of the Red Hat Society. She enjoyed playing bingo, being outside, and taking care of her plants.

She is survived by three daughters, Sharon Henke of Jasper, Judy Dickey and husband William of Shoals and Donna Wigand and husband John of Jasper; two sons, Ronald Henke and wife Alethea of Jasper and David Henke and wife Jane of Jasper; 15 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; 25 great-great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were two sisters; Augusta Kuntz and Alma Schmitt, five brothers; Linus, Matthew, Norbert, Dennis and Urban Eckert, and one grandson; Brian Henke.

Funeral services for Florence Henke will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 5, 2016, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Jasper, with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery in Jasper.

Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 5, 2016, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper, Indiana.

In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph’s Catholic Church or to the wishes of the family.
