Five promoted at German American Bank
German American Bancorp, Inc. announced the promotions of five team members.
According to GAB, the promotions reflect the company’s commitment to leadership development and the recognition of achievement and contributions to the company.

Joe Dedman has been promoted to President & Chief Executive Officer of German American Insurance, Inc. Joe, who has served in various capacities with the Company since 2000, has served as Executive Vice President & Chief Operating Officer of German American Insurance for the past 7 years. During his tenure with German American Insurance, Joe’s leadership and development of the company’s insurance team built the agency into one of the largest, premier insurance agencies in the state of Indiana. He is a member of the board of directors of the Pike County Economic Growth & Development Corporation, the Pike County Technology Center, and Hoosier Voices for I-69. Joe also serves on the executive committee for the I-69 Evansville to Crane Innovation Corridor and has served on many boards and committees at the University of Evansville, including the Alumni Board, Board of Trustees, and Purple Aces Club.

Michael Kern has been promoted to Regional Senior Vice President of Commercial Banking. Michael has over 22 years banking experience serving as a trusted advisor to some of our largest commercial loan customers as well as an expert to the Medical profession. He is currently enrolled in the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. To earn this achievement of a higher level of education in banking, economics and leadership, Michael will attend classes for three summers at the University and participate in comprehensive study between the summer sessions. The curriculum focuses on the management of strategic issues faced by banking executives and financial services industry professionals. Michael is Chairman of the Dubois Strong Enterprise Loan Fund, President of DC Multisport, and Treasurer of the Dubois County Lions Club.

Gene Mattingly has been promoted to Senior Vice President & Senior Financial Consultant within the Investment Services Division of German American Financial Advisors & Trust Company. Gene previously served as a Vice President & Financial Consultant with the investment division of the company. He has consistently led the investment team in generated revenue and has received various recognitions as a top producing Financial Advisor by the company’s Broker Dealer partners. His most recent recognition was in Hawaii of this year from LPL Financial. Gene’s commitment to his craft and his clients is further displayed by achieving the AIF (Accredited Investment Fiduciary) professional designation earlier this year…a unique designation he alone holds at German American Investment Services.

Dave Mitchell has been promoted to Senior Vice President & Chief Investment Officer within the Trust Division of German American Financial Advisors & Trust Company. Dave, who joined German American in 2011 and has over 25 years of Trust experience, is responsible for overseeing the investment strategy of Trust clients to assist them in achieving their individual goals. He holds degrees in Finance, Economics, and Management from the University of Southern Indiana. He currently serves on the boards of directors for the YMCA of Southwestern Indiana, the Evansville Association for the Blind, Vanderburgh Community Foundation, and serves on the Community Foundation Alliance Investment Committee.

John Mundy has been promoted to Regional Vice President & Financial Center Manager. John has managed our Huntingburg financial center for the past 16 years. Under his leadership, that location has delivered consistent loan and deposit growth. John is very engaged in the Huntingburg community and serves on a variety of boards and committees, including but not limited to, the Stellar Community Development team, the Revolving Loan Committee, and the Economic Development Committee of the City of Huntingburg.
