First-ever, free, virtual events empower area high school girls
Women LEAD will empower area high school girls to be bold, fearless and lead with confidence through its first-ever virtually delivered events.

“Through technology, Young Women LEAD is bringing together up to 3,000 girls in grades 9-12,” said Sally Schott, Founder and CEO of Young Women LEAD. “Whether girls reside in the urban core, in suburbs or on farms, Young Women LEAD is for all girls. We’ve eliminated barriers — such as location, fees, GPAs — to lift up all high school girls.”
Since its inception 10 years ago, Young Women LEAD has empowered 31,000 high school girls through 46 in-person events. The nonprofit is committed to changing the way high school girls nationwide perceive themselves and to challenge them to reach higher levels of personal growth and development.

Young Women LEAD encourages girls to pursue careers that they may not have otherwise considered. Research shows that 70% of young women suffer from a lack of self-confidence and believe they do not measure up in some way. Their insecurities are stifling their dreams. More than half of all girls say that girls don’t consider a career in STEM because of lack of confidence.

This year’s Young Women LEAD Live! events focus on “Imagine the Possibilities.” Each event features:

Young Women LEAD
Young Women LEAD provides live events, conferences, and curriculum for high school girls focusing on Leadership, Education and Development. The purpose of Young Women LEAD is to empower high school girls to embrace their strengths and to reach their full potential. Young Women LEAD Live! events feature nationally recognized women who share their own insights on real life issues and how to overcome them to achieve successful and meaningful careers. Young Women LEAD also provides an opportunity for the teens to connect to and learn from local female business leaders.
This conference is unique both in its creation and purpose. Young Women LEAD is organized by the local participants of SOAR, a leadership development program designed to assist businesses in developing their women for future leadership positions. This project allows the SOAR members to practice their newly acquired leadership skills while at the same time “pay it forward” in their communities benefiting high school girls.
