Fireworks and celebrations mark weekend

Residents have several options to enjoy the weekend and commemoration the United States’ birthday.

Otwell has three days of celebrations with rides, games and food vendors begin at 5 p.m. on Friday, July 2 at the Otwell Community Center, located at 2301 N. Spring St. The festival opens at 11 a.m. on July 3 and 5 p.m. on July 4 and ends with fireworks.

Thunder Over Patoka is set to light up the lake on Saturday, July 3. The show starts at dusk and can be viewed in the park, at the dam, or on the water.

The YMI in Huntingburg is hosting the annual picnic and car show at the club, 421 N. Van Buren Street. Food available at 11 a.m.

The Dubois County Bombers will host a fireworks display after the game Sunday evening. Gates open at 6:30 p.m.
