Fire destroys home in Schnellville overnight

Schnellville — Schnellville and St. Anthony Fire Departments were dispatched to 7155 East State Road 64 last night just after 11 p.m. on the report of a mobile home fire.

A Schnellville Fire Department report says that a passerby called in the fire. Fire Chief Mark Fischer says that the fire was already through the roof when they arrived on scene. The majority of the fire was extinguished in about 10 minutes.

The home is owned by Debbie Schepers but no one was at the home at the time of the fire. According to Fischer, they have been unable to get in contact with the owner as of this release and that the cause of the fire is undetermined.

Schnellville had four trucks with 23 firefighters. St. Anthony provided two trucks and 15 firefighters. All were on the scene for about 3 hours.

The home was declared a total loss.
