Ferdinand truck driver found dead in fire-gutted semi in Detroit

A fund has been established for the family of Mike Boeglin, the Ferdinand man killed in Detroit yesterday morning. The fund is established through German American Bank and money can be dropped off at any branch.
Boeglin’s wife Ashley is expecting the couple’s first child.
A Ferdinand man was found deceased in his burned semi-tractor trailer this morning in Detroit.
Mike Boeglin, 31, was found in the truck with five spent bullet casings outside the remains of the truck. Police were called to Junction and McGraw streets in southwest Detroit just before 2 a.m. to the report of the semi engulfed in flames and shots fired.
Boeglin was making a delivery to a ThyssenKrupp steel plant in Detroit. He was hauling aluminum coils from Aleris Rolled Products out of Tell City.
The Wayne County Medical Examiner confirmed Boeglin died from multiple gun shot wounds.
