Ferdinand to host community planning meeting Thursday

Ferdinand175-AThe Town of Ferdinand is inviting members of the community to attend a special meeting Thurday to provide input as the town updates its comprehensive plan for future developments.

In 2007, the Town of Ferdinand updated and adopted a Comprehensive Plan. This plan looked out over 10 years and addressed ideas for the town to move towards as we grow our community. On Thursday, August 27, 2015, a meeting is being hosted by the Town Council to get the Community of Ferdinand’s input into the future of our town.

This  meeting is being held at the Community Center. It will start promptly at 6:30 p.m. and will adjourn at 8:00 p.m. Pretzels, chips and soft drinks will be available.

During the past two months meetings have been held with high school youth, members of the business community, and members of the volunteer groups in town and tt is now time for the rest of the community to give their input.

Kathy Kleindorfer, a facilitator from Evansville, Indiana, will lead the town as it works towards envisioning its next 10-year goals.

During the meeting Thursday, Ken Sicard will present what the town has accomplished in the past seven years since the last version of the comprehensive plan was adopted. Then, the rest of the meeting will be gathering the thoughts of the community.
