Ferdinand police make theft arrest

Ferdinand — Ferdinand police arrested Christopher R. Genet. 40, of Huffman Road, Bristow, Friday morning after being called to a Ferdinand business for some suspicious activity.

Officers responded to Bettag Plumbing and Heating, 915 Main Street, at about 1:35 a.m. and found Genet at the business. His truck was parked near the rear of the business and it had been loaded with copper, brass, and aluminum, valued at $100, according to police.

Genet was charged with A misdemeanor theft and booked into the Dubois County Security Center.

Dubois County Sheriff’s Department assisted and a Berg’s Wrecker Service wrecker towed Genet’s truck.
