Ferdinand Library featured in education interiors showcase honoring the nation’s best learning environments

Universal Design Associates, Inc. announces that Dubois County Contractual Public Library, Ferdinand Branch, Ferdinand, Indiana has been selected for publication in Penton Media’s American School & University® 2011 Educational Interiors Showcase. An annual competition honoring educational interior design excellence, the Educational Interiors Showcase spotlights projects representing some of the most effective learning environments in America.
A jury of American Institute of Architects (AIA) members and education administrators evaluated submissions from architectural firms, schools and universities across the country. Seventy-four projects were chosen for publication in AS&U, a monthly educational facilities, purchasing and business administration magazine reaching 62,000 facility planners, school and university administrators and architects with this issue. This is the 21st year the competition has been held.
Featured projects include diverse, exciting environments for students that showcase innovations in twenty-five entry categories. Each project was judged based on the following considerations: safety/security, sustainability, mission/purpose, balance, connection to community, functionality/flexibility, technology and innovation/creative solutions.
