Ferdinand launches new website to increase connectivity with community

The Town of Ferdinand has launched a redesigned town website, www.ferdinandindiana.org.
The process, overseen by the town’s web services provider Indianapolis-based eGov Strategies, began in early 2013 and the new site replaces a design that has been in place for more than three and a half years.
“We have experienced a growth period and a level of excitement in and about our community for quite a while now,” said Ferdinand Town Council president, Ken Sicard. “I truly believe that our investment in first-rate technology and quality of life opportunities are a big part of that, particularly with for young, on-the-go families.”
As a part of the website’s new upgrade, the town is one of only a handful of communities—definitely the only community its size—in Indiana to boast responsive design technology. The responsive design technology is aimed at making http://www.ferdinandindiana.org a more optimal viewing experience regardless of the viewing device used (desktop computer monitors, tablets, or mobile phones). Perhaps more simply, the site is now designed to automatically conform its content to the size of the viewing device’s screen.
All of the standard features of the former website are incorporated into the new site’s design—the featured and historical news, the Citizen’s Action Center, the events calendar, and, of course, departmental, tourist, and Ferdinand Chamber of Commerce information.
