Ferdinand Kiwanis announces two scholarship recipients
The Kiwanis Club of Ferdinand announced Lauren Tretter and Amy Troesch as the recipients of two $500 scholarships.
Lauren will study Business at the Indiana University’s Kelly School of Business. Amy is the daughter of Jim and Jennifer Troesch. Amy will be attending Ball State University this fall to study nursing.
Indiana Kiwanis Foundation and Kiwanis Club of Ferdinand are also pleased to jointly announce Aaron Braunecker as a recipient of a $1,200 scholarship. Aaron is the son of Gary and Betty Braunecker. Aaron will study marketing this fall at Indiana University Southeast.
Kiwanis is a service organization dedicated to improving the world one child, and one community at a time. In addition to these scholarships, Ferdinand Kiwanis funds many community projects including: the addition of an Expression Swing in Fifth Street Park; playground stencils and paint to Ferdinand and Pine Ridge Elementary schools; numerous donations to kid friendly organizations and causes, such as Boy Scouts and Girls on the Run; financial support of Heimatfest, Ferdinand Folk Fest, and Rosenvolk German Medieval Festival; and finally supporting our youth through Kiwanis’ K-Kids, Builder’ Club, and Key Club, as well as BUG (Bring Up Grades) Awards.
