Ferdinand Community Center issues guidelines for upcoming events
After consulting with the local Health Department and after receiving the directive from Governor Holcomb to limit social gatherings to 250 or less, the FCC is advising those renting the Ferdinand Community Center to limit their guest list to 250 or less or will have the option to postpone their event to a later date.
In addition, the FCC is taking the following precautions in order to protect the safety and well being of its guests: additional rigorous cleaning using proper sanitizing and germicidal detergent products, added hand sanitizing stations, arranging room set ups that provide more space between guest tables to meet the minimum recommended guideline.
Additional Recommendation and Guidance: The Indiana State Department of Health [ISDH] strongly recommends the following for the next 30 days, unless extended:
- If an event of 250 or less cannot be canceled or postponed, institute the following precautionary measures:
o Encourage those in a high-risk group to not attend the event;
o Recommend that attendees stay home if they have a fever and/or respiratory symptoms;
o Practice social distancing, such as adding distance between where individuals sit or stand around tables, and also limit the number of people in lines;
o Avoid direct physical contact with others, such as hand-shaking, holding hands, and hugging. - For those who attend the event, recommend they take the following precautions to prevent possible transmission of the COVID-19 before, during, and after the event:
- ? Wash hands often with soap and water or use alcohol-based hand sanitizer;
- ? Cough and sneeze into the elbow or into a tissue;
? Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands.
