Ferdinand Community Center establishes endowment, seeks support

For the past 37 years, the Ferdinand Community Center has been a vital part of the community—a place where people gather, celebrate, and connect. Now, the Ferdinand Community Center Board of Directors is taking a crucial step to help ensure the Center continues serving Ferdinand and the surrounding communities for generations to come.

The board has established a Ferdinand Community Center Endowment, designed to provide long-term financial
stability for the facility. This endowment will help ensure that resources are available in the years ahead for necessary improvements, maintenance, and enhancements to the Community Center.

“Our goal is to look beyond today and make sure the Ferdinand Community Center remains a high-quality facility for future generations,” the Board said. “An endowment gives our community an opportunity to help protect and strengthen this important community resource for many years to come.”

Community members, businesses, organizations, and others who value the Community Center are invited to
consider contributing to the endowment.

Charitable giving may also provide certain tax advantages. Individuals who must take a Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) from an IRA may be able to make a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) directly to an
eligible charitable organization and exclude the qualifying distribution from taxable income.

In addition, beginning with the 2026 tax year, certain taxpayers who do not itemize deductions may qualify for a charitable contribution deduction. Married couples filing jointly may be eligible to deduct up to $2,000 in qualifying charitable contributions. Donors should consult with their tax or financial advisor to determine whether these opportunities apply to their individual circumstances.

Those wishing to contribute should make checks payable to the Ferdinand Community Center Endowment and
write “FCC Endowment” in the memo line.

Contributions may be mailed to:
Dubois County Community Foundation
P.O. Box 269
Jasper, IN 47547

“With the support of our community, we can ensure that the Ferdinand Community Center remains a welcoming, well-maintained and high-quality facility serving Ferdinand and the surrounding area for generations to come,” the Board said.
