Laura Martin Author Visit:   5/2 4:30-6   Thanks to an Indiana Humanities grant, Laura Martin will be at the Ferdinand Library to answer questions about her books and she will be happy to autograph any of them. May Is Mental Health Awareness Month:  All of us can use tools to help with our mental health. Stop by and get resources like Worry Dolls, Calm Strips, Kindness Links, Affirmation Magnets, & Stress Balls.

Learn Bridge In A Day: 5/4 9-1  Here is your chance to learn how to play the card game, “Bridge”.  Hosted and led by the Jasper Duplicate Bridge Club, an instruction booklet will be provided as well as free refreshments. Register by calling 812-631-1819.

Teen Paint Palooza: 5/7 3-4:30PM Teens can stop by after school and use our canvases & paint supplies to create your own artwork!

Kindness Rock Painting:  5/9 5:30-7PM  Older kids – Adults are welcome to come paint or decoupage kindness rocks.  Or you can paint a rock to add to our “Rockafella” bookworm that is located outside by our Book Drop.

Homeschool Hub: 5/9 1PM All Homeschoolers are welcome. Lincoln State Park’s Nature Center will be here to celebrate “International Turtle Day” withus! They will be bringing live turtles and presenting information on the turtles of Indiana. Come to find out all these answers and to participate in some turtle-themed activities/crafts.

BBB Presentation:  5/10 11:30AM Susan Bolin, Vice President of Business Relations, with the Tri-State Better Business Bureau will be here presenting on “Avoiding Common Scams and Fraud”. Scams and fraud are always evolving, so knowledge is key to protecting your organization, and those in our community. BBB highlights common types of scams and fraud, their variations, and red flags. She will also discuss targeting vulnerable demographics like Seniors. Learn more about how to protect personal information and how to better safeguard assets and funds.

Open Playtime For Littles:  5/10 10AM We will have building blocks, dolls and other toys out and available for children to play with.

Book Sale: 5/11 10AM-1PM The Friends Of The Ferdinand Library is held on the second Saturday of each month. You can enter the Library Basement from the inside or by using the outside north door near the Ferdinand Community Center parking lot.  Most paperbacks are $.50 and most hardcovers are $1. Dairy Presentation:  5/16  Abby Lueken will be at the Ferdinand Library to share ‘dairy’ activities. Sure to be fun for all ages.

Pokemon Club: 5/18 10-11:30AM Pokemon Fans of all ages are invited to see movies, complete challenges, and bring their games to play with others.

Art Time For Littles: 5/18 10AM  Children 5 and under are invited to this creative experience using library art supplies!

Libby, Kanopy & Hoopla:  Patrons can access a variety of audiobooks, ebooks, magazines, entertainment and classes for free by downloading the Libby App and using their library card. Contact the Library with any questions.

Dolly Party Imagination Library:   Through a partnership with Friends of the Jasper Public Library, the Dubois County Community Foundation committed to three years of funding support to kick start the program in our community. This incredible program, founded by the one and only Dolly Parton, provides free books to children from birth to age 5, fostering an early love for reading and learning. The Ferdinand Library’s hours are Monday thru Thursday, 9am-8pm (EST), Friday (9am-5pm) and Saturday, 9am-2pm (EST).
