Family Roots Nursery burglarized twice

Family Roots on the Dubois/Spencer County line has been the victim of two burglaries within a 48 hour period.

According to the Dubois County Sheriff’s department the first incident occurred sometime between 6:00 p.m. Saturday night and 7:00 a.m. Sunday morning. Suspect(s) gained entry into the business by prying open a door and then took an undisclosed amount of cash from a file door inside the business. Damages to the door are estimated to be $1000.00.

The second burglary occurred sometime between 9:45 pm Monday evening and 8:30 am Tuesday morning. A soft drink vending machine on the front porch of the business was broken into. The front of the machine was pried open and the coin box was stolen with a minimal amount of change.

“It is frustrating and if anyone has any information we just ask that they come forward,” said Andrea Peters the manager of Family Roots Nursery.

The sheriff’s Department is requesting public assistance in this matter.  If anyone noticed any vehicle or persons in the area around these times, or has any information in regards to the above mentioned incidents, please contact the Dubois County Sheriff’s Department at 812/482-3522.
