Facebook changes you may want to know about

Many of our readers follow us on Facebook but the social network isn’t without its problems. These recent changes may be a step in a good direction though.

Facebook is working to keep users happy by minimizing the number of promotional posts that appear in their personal News Feed but businesses have asked for a new way to reach fans. Yesterday, Facebook rolled out a separate “Pages Feed” that can be found along personal pages’ sidebars. See example below.

Unlike the standard News Feed, which mixes posts from friends with some posts from promotional Facebook “Pages” that users have Liked, the Pages Feed is unfiltered and features only the promotional posts.

We have also noticed that some features such as the commenting system is changing. Users can now “Reply” specifically to a comment-er rather than tagging them in a comment. Here it is on Channel 14’s Facebook page.
