Eva May Wayman Mitchell, 70

Eva May Wayman Mitchell, 70, of Birdseye, passed away at the Jewish Hospital in Louisville on February 6, 2015.

Eva was born to the late Melvin and Hazel (Wiseman) Wayman on December 25, 1944 in Winslow. She was married to Marion Mitchell in October 1960.

In 1957 Eva and her twin brother, Bob, who preceded her in death, where both baptized at River View Baptist Church in Fort Wayne.

She was a homemaker who loved to cook homestyle meals. She and Marion loved to volunteer their time singing at various churches and nursing homes.

She is survived by her children, Chris Mitchell (Paula) of Tell City, Carla Sturm (Terry) of Eckerty, Danny (Janice) Mitchell of Milltown, Stacey (Rose) Mitchell of French Lick, Walter Mitchell of Birdseye, and Daron Mitchell, Huntingburg; brother, Fred Hammond of Huntingburg; sister, Mary Metz of English; 11 grandchildren, Lauran Sturm, Andrea Clark, Haleigh Mitchell, Sydney Mitchell, Robert Mitchell, Tyler Sturm, Kyle Mitchell, Derek Mitchell, Corey Mitchell, Shane Mitchell and Aaron Mitchell; a great-grandchild, Hank Clark.

Eva was preceded in death by her brothers Bobby Wayman, Dave Wayman, Richard Wayman, Harvey Hammond, Billy Hammond, sisters Norma Abel and granddaughter Katie Mitchell.

Visitation will be Monday, February 9, 2015 at Denbo Funeral Home in English from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. EST.

Funeral will be held on Tuesday, February 10, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. at Denbo Funeral Home in English. Burial will follow at Bethany Union Cemetery in Eckerty.
